History
بندر پارسیان در استان هرمزگان، در منطقه‌ای که پیش‌تر «گاوبندی» نام داشت، واقع است؛ در سال ۱۳۸۶ نام مرکز شهرستان به پارسیان تغییر یافت. این منطقه با قرارگیری در مسیر پروژه‌های نفت و گاز خلیج فارس و ایجاد پایانه‌های صادرات نفتی و پتروشیمی اهمیت راهبردی یافته و جمعیت آن از حدود ۱۰,۵۰۰ نفر (۱۳۸۵) به بیش از ۱۸,۰۰۰ نفر (۱۳۹۵) رسیده است.
