History
جزیره لارک در باریک‌ترین بخش تنگه هرمز واقع است؛ پرتغالی‌ها در سده شانزدهم دژهایی در آن ساختند. پس از حمله عراق به خارک در ۱۳۶۴، ایران در خرداد ۱۳۶۵ پایانه شناور نفتی لارک را افتتاح کرد که در آبان همان سال بمباران شد. در فروردین ۱۳۶۷ ناوچه سهند در نزدیکی آن غرق و نفتکش سی‌وایز جاینت هدف موشک قرار گرفت.
